A rest in a pine forest project

This project is a step forward in changing Jordanian view about the Pine that it is not just a tool for Eco-tourism, by increasing the Jordanian awareness of the importance of conifers on our life, and how can we use it to solve many environmental problems such as desertification, pollution and soil erosion.

In this project i  merged geography with biology, computer science and art to give the students the chance to have a helicopter view of the subject.

I started the project by teaching my students about desertification in Jordan and it's factors. Then i  let them realize the importance of pine trees in our lives as they learned in Biology and compare it with Jordanians awareness regarding this issue by designing a questionnaire, by analyzing the results and an inter view with forestry manager in our city, i pathed their way to realize that they have the solution to minimize the desertification and transfer its economic value in different ways, by raising the local community awareness of the importance of conifers by producing art works using pine cones and present them in a gallery in the school, and designing an expressive poaster and brochure, inviting a professorial lecturer from the Department of Agriculture to talk about this issue, also we will do a Tree planting campaign at our region in the scout camp.
